10 Ways to Keep Missions on the Minds and in the Hearts of Your Church Family.

For twenty-two years, the Lord blessed me to pastor three different Independent Baptist, missions minded churches.  He taught me many things during the course of those years that now as the President and General Director of Macedonia World Baptist Missions I am compelled to share with others.   There are many facets of my job that I love, one of which is what I like to call “fan the flame of world evangelism.”  There are many ways the Lord has led me to do that, one of which is by helping pastors promote world evangelism and therefore keep the need to reach the world with the gospel in the forefront of their churches.

Many times I have heard a pastor say, “I do not understand why our missions giving is down,” or “Our folks just do not seem to have a burden for world evangelism.”  However, I often discover that missions is never spoken of in the church, a prayer letter is never read or even as much as posted for the church to see.  In fact, more times than not no effort is made at all to keep world missions in front of the congregation.

Pastor, I know it is a struggle at times.  I realize the need to keep world evangelism in the forefront of your ministry is just one need out of many.  However, let me assure you a church will only be as excited about world evangelism as their pastor is.  Their level of commitment and dedication to reach the world with the Gospel will mirror that of their leadership.   Therefore, I have listed ten ways you can easily keep missions on the minds and in the hearts of your people.  Would you prayerfully consider implementing some of these ideas as you plan your calendar for 2018?  Please do not misunderstand.  I am certainly not a “know it all” and I am still learning myself.  These are simply a few things that have worked for me while I was a pastor and I have but one motive in sharing them with you.  I am sharing these things with you in order that more souls might be saved, more churches planted, and more people would be reached with the Gospel than ever before.

I hope you will join me over the next few days as I share these 10 ways with you.
